Just picked up Felted Crochet by Jane Davis. I love this book– the instructional chapter is fantastic (where many felting books just say “Washing in hot water felts wool!”) and she offers patterns for a variety of projects–not just bags. The rug she includes is great, as are the throw pillows and adorable little stuffed animals. I’m working on the Little Lamb now.

I’m also just really inspired to start trying to design things in crochet for fulling–I’ve got this bag beginning to push into my mind–something that starts as a circle and then squares off towards the top. The closure and strap are still in the fuzzy stage, so I’m going to wait until those make themselves known to buy the yarn (also, until after my next paycheck). I’m planning on using two Cascade 220 Quattro colors– a red/pink and an orange/yellow along with Malabrigo in Amoroso– a variegated red and fuchsia. I think it’ll be fantastic=)

My favorite thing about this book is that the instructional chapter gives the information you need to start designing things for yourself, rather than just enough to follow the patterns. I love it.
